Fantom Code – Intercollegiate Hackathon 2022

 

Fantom code is a 24 hour hackathon conducted by the college of RV Institute of Technology and Managment.

The hackathon is conducted in two phases:

Round One : Ideation Round

  • This round is held on an online platformsuch as Zoom/Google Meet.
  • The teams are to present their ideas at the fixed time slotprovided to them and failure to do so will be considered as automatic forfeit from the hackathon.
  • Participants are given a presentation template in which they need to showcase their ideas to the best of their abilities.
  • The team shall strictly adhere to the presentation template given by the organisers and any deviations from the template will lead to disqualification of the team.
  • A member of the team should present their idea and has to complete their presentation in 5 minutes, answer queries by the judges and attain feedback in the following 5 minutes.
  • All decisions made by the jury are uncontested and are considered to befinal.
  • The shortlisted candidates from round 1 will be allowed to take part in the round 2 of the hackathon.

Round 2: Implementation Round

  • Shortlisted participants have to assemble at the venue to begin their implementation in the second round.
  • No development may start before the actual date and time of the event. Any teams that violate this rule will be automatically disqualified. The first line of code should be written on or afterFriday, June 10, 2021 at 10 am. However, we encourage you to brainstorm ideas and create wireframes/mock-ups.
  • Any software developmenttools, game engine, IDE, and/or programming language can be used for the event.
  • To ensure a level field for all contestants, all code must be created only at the hackathon. You are permitted to use publicly developed and openly licensed APIs and SDKs for your project.
  • If a participant engages in harassing behaviour, the organisers may take action they deem appropriate. This includes warning the offender, expulsion from the hackathon with no refund (if applicable), or reporting them to local law enforcement.
  • Our hackathon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of their background. Hackathon participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the hackathon at the discretion of the hackathon organisers.
  • Teams must stop workingonce the time is up. However, teams are allowed to debug and make small fixes to their programs after time is up. e.g. Any bugs or errors which lead to the breakdown of the project can be fixed under the discretion of the judges.
  • Teams who choose to leave the venue before the completion of the hackathon are considered toforfeit the eventParticipants are allowed outside the venue only in case of emergencies as deemed by the organisers.
  • Any damages made to the institutional propertywill be viewed seriously and fines will be levied accordingly.
  • Project demo and judgement will carried out after the completion of the 24 hours dedicated to the hackathon.
  • Hackathon Judging Criteria and presentation rules will be disclosed an hour before the Hackathon begins.
  • It is strictly encouraged to present a demo of the project rather than pitching the idea to the judges as weightage is given to the demo over the presentation.

 

Points of interest

  • Lunch, Dinner for the 10th of June and Breakfast for the 11th will be provided.
  • Snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the duration of the hackathon.
  • Medical assistance will be provided in case of emergencies.
  • Access to various recreational activities.
